Evelyn Wooster (October 23, 1937-April 3, 2024), one of the first 2 females to join Castle Rock Fire Department in 1981. Evelyn served in the department as a Firefighter/EMT until 1999, saving numerous lives and leaving a permanent impact on our department and community. The growth of this department was built on the foundation that Evelyn, or Evie as many knew her by, helped lay. She is remembered as the one who kept the crews in line, including the paramedics, running the Wednesday shift, and opening the doors for many females to come. Thank you for your service, Evie. Evelyn was such a great partner to work with. She faithfully covered her volunteer ambulance shifts for many many years. We covered so many calls over her time at Cowlitz 6 some of those calls I will remember for a long time. And I will never forget some of her night's serving as Judge Wooster. It made me determined never to be on her wrong side. that waggling finger and stern look during sentencing was classic. She was Judge Judy before there was such a thing. My thoughts are with the rest of the Wooster family.

Evelyn was a great influence in my life. She encouraged me to volunteer and keep at it as long as possible.

I’ve known Mrs. Wooster ( aka Evelyn & Judge Wooster) pretty much my entire life and because of Evelyn’s encouragement~I spent many years as a volunteer EMT/Firefighter for District 3 and later worked for Medix & in the ER. Often we were on calls together as mutual aid responders with CR. Her knowledge and skills were always an asset to the team & patient (s) upon arrival. A very kind and loving person whom served our community with pride and courage. A remarkable woman whom will be dearly missed by her family, friends and community. We lift prayers of comfort and peace for the Wooster family in this most difficult time. 🙏🏻❤️
